मुंबईतील घाटकोपर येथे घडलेल्या प्रकरणावर भाजप नेते किरीट सोमय्या आणि महापौर रितू तावडे यांनी पोलिस ठाण्याबाहेर आंदोलन करत संताप व्यक्त केला. अल्पवयीन मुलींशी गैरवर्तन झाल्याच्या आरोपांवरून संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांना तात्काळ निलंबित करण्याची मागणी करण्यात आली. या प्रकरणामुळे स्थानिक पातळीवर तणाव निर्माण झाला असून पुढील कारवाईकडे सर्वांचे लक्ष लागले आहे.
